Hi There!
It’s nice to meet you virtually. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I graduated from the Body Therapy Institute in 2010 and have over 15 years experience as a bodyworker. In addition to practicing massage therapy, I am also a certified yoga instructor through YogaWorks and a former lead teacher of Anatomy, Physiology, Kinsesiology and Pathology at the Body Therapy Institute. My background in yoga and anatomy gives me a thorough understanding of how the body is designed to move, as well as an appreciation of the vitally important role that relaxation and restoration play in our overall health.
I have not always been a massage therapist. I spent my younger adult life in New York City working in international philanthropy in both the nonprofit and corporate sectors. I have a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in international affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. After many years of sitting at a desk, studying and working non-stop, my body told me I needed a major lifestyle change - thankfully, I listened! I moved to Durham to be closer to family and began my next chapter.
Before starting my private practice, I provided massage therapy at the Duke Health and Fitness Center, a medical fitness facility certified by the Medical Fitness Association. I am a member in good standing of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals.
In my free time I enjoy jigsaw puzzles, pilates, baking, volunteering at the Animal Protection Society (APS) of Durham, and spending time with my APS alum, Lima Bean!
